How to use Auto Replace: 1] Browse:-
Select the Base directory from where you want to begin your search and replace operation. Click on the Browse Button to manually select the directory path. 2] Sub-Directory Option:-
Check the Include Sub-Directory option if you want Auto Replace to replace text within the sub-directories also. If you uncheck this option text shall be replaced only from within the directory which you have browsed and no text would be replaced from any of the sub-directories below the browsed main directory. 3] Filters:-
Filter is actually the file name extension like *.htm or *.asp or *.txt etc. The filter or the file type that you define here will help Auto Replace to replace text only from that type of files. Hence it is always advisable to give only one file type filter at a time. Do not give multiple file type filters at a time. Just do repeated and separate operations with different file type filters. [For details see the Screen shot above.] 4] Text to Find:-
Text to find is the html code or any plain text that you want Auto Replace to find and replace. For example you can give just a Name or Telephone to be replaced or even a complete HTML code like <TITLE>This is my Page Title</TITLE>. [For details see the Screen shot above.]
If you want to just search some text without any replacement, freely use
this option. Auto replace would give you the list of files containing the text
which you have searched, within seconds. Double click on any file name would
open the same in Notepad for editing. 5] Case Sensitive:-
Check this Box if you want your search and replace option to be Case Sensitive. This means that if you write "TELEPHONE" in upper case letters and ask Auto Replace to Start the replace operation, it will not replace "telephone", which is written in Lower case. But remember if you uncheck this option all words would be replaced immediately without any further notice, whether in Upper Case or in Lower Case. 6] Text to Replace:-
Give the New Text that you want to appear in the HTML page after the replace action is done. Give the "Text to Find" in the first Box and give your New Text which you want to replace the old text with in to the "Text to Replace" Box. [For details see the Screen shot above.]
