GSplit
Homepage [download] [1272 KB] "Excellent tool - Decent options " Author: Guillaume Di Giusto
GSplit is a powerful file splitter that lets you split your large files (like Self-Extracting and Zip archives, multimedia, song, music, picture, document files...) into a set of smaller files called pieces. These pieces are easier to copy to floppies, distribute over the Internet or through E-mail, share with friends or colleagues, archive to Zip disks or CDs. The pieces can be easily combined, using the generated Self-Uniting Executable, that automatically restores the original file for you without requiring GUnite. GSplit also includes advanced features like different splitting methods (blocked or spanned disks pieces), CRC32 checks (detects file corruption), splitting logs, keep file information, create specific pieces with your own names and shell integration. TrustMeher Comments: There may just be 100 other tools to split and join files, but do you need all of them?. If you just need some nice program which can do the things like splitting large files and compiling them through the built in self extractor exe, just get this software and remain happy. You may find other small software's claiming to do this, but we tell you most of them do not work with the efficiency and skill that this one has. If you are splitting files on a hard drive set the mode to Blocked pieces, and first define the default per piece file size in KB's that you want. Also remember to save these settings to save configurations file as default. If you will not take care of the file size to be split the software may just go for very small pieces like 100 KB each in the default mode. Settings in a WinXP style interface are a little confusing but once you master them, you Win?.

FCutter is a small (about 17 KB) and very fast utility for cutting big files into small. This lets you to carry big files from one computer to another or backup some big files on the floppies. Features: Small, fast and easy to use./ Drag'n'Drop interface./ Creates batch file that restores files to normal / Customizable output files size / Able to clear floppy disk before writing. [Software Review: Nonags.com]
TrustMeher Comments: To our surprise we tried this little utility and found it to be most admiring tool. It uses the batch processing for "copy this file + copy that file" mode and combines all the pieces of files in to one, and unlike other file splitjoiners, it automatically deletes the earlier small pieces, and also the batch file. So you have a clean new complete file. Just 17 KB. Can you imagine what a wonder??. If you have not downloaded the GSplit then try this one first. When you split the files it automatically creates a self extracting bat file to combine all the pieces.
TrustMeher Note: There are many many other Free File cutter utilities available but we feel using either of the above is sufficient for your work, and hence we have not reported many of them. If you feel that some other software be added here please let us know Here
